Office Nighttime Look :)

Heavy

Heavy

You just know that you've a new kind of sadness when you, being someone who loves singing, start praying "If this is really your will for me, Lord, can you please take away my voice?" over and over again.

And, just to get ahead of everyone's (probable) thoughts while reading this, I decided to post it publicly just to get it a bit of the heaviness off my chest. Take it as a form of "screaming to the heavens", if you will.

Perhaps, now, as my eyes are tired from crying, sleep will finally come to me.

Praise Report Challenge -- Day 1

Praise Report Challenge -- Day 1

PRAISE REPORT CHALLENGE

Here's a different kind of challenge.
You are to post three thing you are thankful for everyday for 5 days.

(Day 1)

1. We (my coworkers and I) finally got the morning shift. Even though it's just for the next three days and then we go back to having the second shift, I praise God I finally get to see the early morning again.

2. Because of praise report #1, I can finally attend Bible studies again, both Midweek and Youth. This means I can also have fellowship with churchmates!

3. I'm still healthy! Even with the constant being rained on with the weird weather, the cold temperatures in air-conditioned rooms, and almost heatstroke-inducing sunny drive to work, God has protected me from getting sick, not even the sniffles! This is amazing, considering I'm usually very temperature-sensitive.

How about you? What do you praise God for?

I challenge all my friends to do this!

Fallacies

Fallacies

So I stumbled upon a blog post from a person defending his belief/stand on something that I had at least some sort of knowledge about. I decided to read through the entire post and even went through some of the comments left by other individuals accompanied by his replies to each comment.

You see, I am one who overanalyzes statements. I am one who tries to figure out a deeper meaning for something as menial as an added letter after a chat message? (My friend can truly attest to this.) There's something in me that if it clicks, I will just go on and on trying to understand what's behind it. Now, he made some assumptions about certain things that raised some, what I would say "journalistic," questions in my mind.

It made me think about fallacies, as clearly titled in this post. Now, I'm not one of those who are very keen on detecting fallacious statements and reasoning, although I should try to more. If I do see faulty reasoning, or particularly in this case it was more reasoning-declaration, I tend to inquire. I mean, what made that person claim what they claim?

fal·la·cy noun \ˈfa-lə-sē\
: a wrong belief : a false or mistaken idea
: the quality of being false or wrong

It was here I asked (and this might seem extremely nerdy) did you conduct a properly acceptable survey so as to legitimately have such a statistical claim? I believe not. There he was declaring someone to be teaching spiritual fallacies and yet he himself contradict his own assertions (and also appear hypocritical) by then going on to claiming such a fallacious statement.

I believe that what I am writing seems like such a shallow battle, but what I am questioning is just the foundation of a bigger argument. I am not questioning those branching out but rather where it seems to start. What I'm trying to say is, generalization, though it  may seem harmless most of the time, can be very touch and dangerous depending on what that generalization is and in what scale it is being done.

P.s. I'm being extremely vague about everything so as to not add fuel to the fire.

And this is all I had to say for now.

God bless and Jesus loves you! :)

Dunkler.

Dunkler.

Dunkler is German for 'dark.'
So it was a cloudy and windy day out with temperatures hovering just below the 30s.
I decided to rock some dark grayscale hues with just touches of gold and plum.

My standout pieces are my newly acquired floral wedge booties from Unique-Vintage.com.

Also prominent on my outfit are my latest buy, the basic black sleeveless mullet dress. I threw an oversized Les Ailes jumper over it and pulled the sleeves back.

I decided to add some flair with my Vanity geometric long necklace, a DIY plum flower ring, a Buy it Flaunt it geometric ring, Forever 21 sunnies and a round hat.
And to keep all my stuffy stuffs, I used my Liz Claiborne dark paisley sling bag.

For beauty, I used M.A.C. Prep+Prime No. 6 from Lady Gaga's collection, Careline powder, Ever Bilena Original eye pencil in brown, Ever Bilena basic liquid eyeliner in black, L'Oreal Telescopic Explosion Mascara, and Victoria Secret Matte cream lipstick in Lavish.

A Possibility: The Last Day

A Possibility: The Last Day

I thought I already let out all the feelings I had about the devastation of Yolanda, or Haiyan as it was internationally called, when I was able to visit the places affected. Then we watched Discovery's amazing documentary about the super typhoon and what it had done, and I was overwhelmed with feelings all over again.

My heart was throbbing, aching for the people that had suffered. My eyes were welling up with tears and I was doing my best to prevent them from falling.
I thought, I was just watching movies and eating snacks while these things were happening; people were struggling, dying.

Think of the people who didn't get to know the Savior and now never will.
My brothers and sisters in the Lord, there is no time like the present. You don't need to join mission trips to share the gospel. Just look around you, there are plenty of opportunities. You never know,  it might be that stranger's last day on earth.

I remember a story I heard once, about a Christian guy that had this friend throughout college that was struggling with a lot of things. He had a lot of opportunities to share his faith with him, but he was too afraid to do so.
Years passed by and they happened to bump into each other. The friend was now saved, and there was question he had for his Christian friend: "Why didn't you tell me?"

----------

So go out and let us all share our faith, unafraid of rejection.
